From Cold War to Post Cold War Previous modules, I’ve introduced you to the basics of constitutional government, politics, and economics, all from a biblical perspective. In this module, we hope to apply those ideas to a global context. After all, the information age with a spectacular technological advancements with respect to travel, communication, logistics, and connectivity has made the world a much smaller place. Today’s leaders will have to think with a global perspective. So it is important to discuss some good guidelines for doing so. For starters, it is helpful to know the difference between the Cold War era and now. Back then it was easier to have a clear cut definition of good and evil, the free world versus communism. Of course it was never that simple. Some of the things the USDA to stop communism and the alliances they made to do so we’re themselves questionable. But there were so much clear lines between good and evil than what we see now. When the Cold War ended, old ethnic rivalries sprung up among various people groups. Rivalries which had been centuries old and which had perhaps only been dormant during the Cold War. Ethnic warfare in the Balkans, in places like Serbia are examples of this. We should not find this surprising
